The Friday Five: 31st Edition

It's that time of the week once again! Here's the best bits of the week gone past...

1. A Look Back At 2013

As another year comes to a close, YouTube Rewind offers us the chance to take a look at the videos that caught the most attention. The secret to going viral in 2013? Going wild, apparently.

2. Innovation Insights

Retail Week has offered up a free download of their innovation review report featuring the likes of augmented reality, bluetooth beacons, cloud-based communications and connected fitting rooms.

3. Mobile Microtargeting

Marketing Week announced that Apple have launched iBeacons in the US this week, enabling retailers to target people close to or inside a shop. The system alerts the retailer of their presence in order to target them accordingly.

4. Instagram Announce Messaging Service

HUH magazine announced Instagram's decision to introduce an instant messaging service named Direct, built directly into the app, allowing users to send real-time messages and pictures.

5. Ideas Full of Love

One of the values we hold dear here at Folk, is that whatever we find ourselves doing, we're doing it because we want to make a difference. Just like IKEA, reported by Mashable.

We wish you a productive remainder of your Friday.
