It's been a busy week at Folk so it's time for a catch up. Here's five things you need to know this week from the worlds of digital, brands and the occasional interesting fact: 1. Facebook Home Hits Half a Million Downloads

Over the past few days the Android app has reached its first big download milestone. After initial worries that it was a case of curiosity, it appears it might be here to stay...

 

2. Urban Outfitters & Converse Launch Vine Promotion

In an innovative use of the new stop motion app, the  two brands are collaborating for a cool contest that offers a cross-country trip for the best Vine that embodies the theme "a day in the life of your Converse sneakers." Users simply submit their Vine vids along with the hashtag #yourchucks - sounds like fun!

 

3. Pinterest Gets Retro

We recently reported that things at Pinterest were changing, well along with those new design tweaks it seems Pinterest is bringing back some old favourites. After listening to user feedback, the site will now include 'pinned by', an auto-suggest search and @ mentions.

 

4.  Chanel Launch Mascara Vending Machines

Make-up emergency? Chanel have just what you need. To promote the launch of their new mascara, the company are using vending machines in UK department stores, quite the unusual approach for the luxury brand. You can see the campaign for yourself at Selfridges, Oxford Street from April 25th to May 8th.
